Found myself testing a new, promising Lipo pack on my Chimera7 in one of the most iconic DIVE locations that I ever visited. Check to see how I liked the pack, how stunning the scenery looks there and even see a sneak peak ;)

Got the chance to test this Field-Charger / Solar generator in my hangar. Looking forward when I can actually bring this with me on the field and charge my LIPO packs with (almost) infinite, free solar power. We just need some warm temps and sunlight :)
Here I show how to build your own longrange lipo battery with exceptional features (large capacity, low weight) and really affordable price while those cells are of good quality (they are used by DJI!). Not sure how long this ALIExpress seller will be able to sell those cells - maybe DJI will stop this at some point?
My 4cell 3850 mah Packs weigh around 225g! and are good for 30 min flights with my planes or copters. On planes you can easily use 2 or more of these packs for even more flighttime!
Specs: - charge up to 4.25v - cut off at 2.8 v (land at 3v under load!) - continuous 12A are OK, up to 28A possible (5 sec, use 2P for more demanding copters/planes)
TIPS: Solder pads: minus pole is easy to TIN (normal solder sticks well here) + pole is ALU (with nickle attachment) Good giude
FARINFRAMES 4ah Pack59eur
cheap, reliable but not the most powerful
428g, 77x64x43mm, 88.8wh, 207,5wh/kg
UPGRADE ENERGYTECH Botgrinder 5ah pack105$
more expensive, better built (copper plates!), powerful,
highest energy density (247,7wh/kg)
450g, 72x64x42mm, 111wh, 247,7wh/kg
IFLIGHT 8ah longrange monstrosity150$
good volts (because 2P), endurance but heavy
893g, 145x61x41mm, 177.6wh, 198.9wh/kg
TESTING:
3 laps with each pack, volt curve logged
Sag test (1sec punchout) volt and amp compare
all logged with Betaflight telemetry to SD card on Tango2

my THOUGHTS / FINDINGS:
iFlight 8000mah intentionally mislabeled as 4500mah because of shipping and/or transportation in carry on...
Does it make sense to go full in with an 890g battery?
Yes, if you need max flight time and more wind resistance ;)
"diminishing returns" compared to using the UE 5000mah botgrinder pack with its high density? - Kind of...
UE 5Ah pack gave me 21mins and a more agile flight feeling!
iFlight pack 26mins and higher VOLTs during the whole flight (2P config!)
FILGHTTIME longterm experience
- longterm averages using my Chimera7 with Farinpack:
avg. 11:30mins with Chim7 (and mostly Gopro) where 14mins was max calculated FT ~250mah/min
- compared to LipoHV 5cell and 4000mah Lipo which I also used a lot:
avg. 11:18mins with Chim7 (and gopro) also 14mins max calc FT
- Foxeer Aura7 (lower system weight, no gopro because DJI O3 - max flighttime!)
~ 26min with 8Ah iFlight, wo gopro! But real flying not just gentle laps!
~ 21min with 5ah UpgradeEnergy
It took me 3 month to collect the data and packs for this video ;) Find a link below to an EXTENSIVE list of nice packs - with all specs and some calculations (max energy per weight?)

bought these myself on Hobbyking (because they ship fast ;)
ZIPPY Compact 4000mAh 6S1PAlso quite interesting are the Gaoneng HV LIPOS - their wh/weight ratio is 0,202 (wh/gr) vs 0,212 on your LIION pack. So these HV packs (how ever good they will hold up!) - they seem to be an alternative with more punch (but they are expensive and hardly available).Heatshrink for LiIon 6S (maybe 12cm instead of 13cm works better?)
I tested all those packs 1.6years ago (when new) and now again after a longer periode of usage and (good) care. See the results quite well documented (since I'm an excel data nerd ;)
How do different LiIon Packs work on different copters, how are they effected by cold temps and much more in this video ;) DJI FPV flights with iFlight Chimera4 and HGLRC Sector5 in the Winter.
Here I tried 2 of my fav copters from this year (Sector5 and Emax HawkPro) with a 5000mah 4cell LION pack (304gr).
Was curious about the flighttime I could achieve with a standard copter setup - and how it would fly (considering both are designed for 6S LIPO power).
Now I got 3 other Packs from ZOHD as well (7000mah 4cell, 3500mah 4cell and a 3500mah 3cell). I'm kinda curious how the 2 3500mah packs will do on the Chimera4. 3s lightweight vs 4s a bit heavy. Wouldnt be surprised to see similar flighttimes - even tho the 4cell pack has 25% more WH in the tank...
