This is an interesting look into REMOTE ID and how official organizations can use these tools to secure their operations airspace very easily. It's also really scary as to how easy you can be found as the pilot of something like your consumer DJI drone :)
I had the chance to see this very interesting drone in action, chase it, lift some weights (the nerdy way) and of course listen to the amazing sound of eight 54" props.

►Tips for the plane:
CG 85mm (Stall test: do it in ALT!!! it spirals and you loose ~30m)
easier handlaunches with slightly REAR CG? but better (more stable) flight with slightly FWD CG. Or just stick with the stock 85mm!
3300mah Lipo (346gr): 136gr in nose
7000mah LiIon (409gr) + Gopro7: 25gr in the back
set motorbrake to MAX:
start ESC with FULL THROTTLE (without prop)
wait for music, then first beep (brake) go MIN THR. and MAX THR again
here wait for 4 beeps (max brake) and again confirm with min/max thr.
PNP Setup is good - 8x5 Prop - dont change it to an folding prop, use motor brake setting for less chance of breaking your prop on landing
Elevons: 2-3mm up from the wingroot (reflex) if the CG is at stock 85mm
maybe a slight bit more for maiden launch to help you!

(There seems to be a bug in iNav 5 where the initial calibration after booting causes sa write operation. if you unplug it too soon, this could reset your FC to defaults?)
Motor Beeps but doesnt work?
motor beeps slowly: no signal (or motor outputs are disabled in iNav!)
if it beeps quickly (if activated), this means throttle is not at 0% - ESC needs calibration (not via remote, but via the Motor slider in iNav config)
iNav flightmodes:
NAV CRUISE (course hold + alt hold)
ACRO (if nothing is selected!) RATE mode - helps against the WIND!
MANUAL (Passthru)
RTH Settings:nav_rth_climb_first = ON
Maximum altitude since launch (NAV_RTH_MAX_ALT)
Autotune flight
Fly a few rounds with enough ROLL and PITCH movements. DON'T Start with AUTOTUNE mode activated (I nearly crashed because of this!)
Important: after landing, DISARM, then move both Sticks BACK and OUT to SAVE!

Met with TJ-FPV again (like in my last video Winghunters). This was when TJ-FPV decided he needs a proper wing - Rene helped him setup the iNav build and now they maidened these planes. Since the weather was great a few other pilots met us there as well - also trying to test their wings ;)
When they saw the tempting mountains on the horizon we also had to drive there as well - so this was basically 2 FPV meetings on one day.
On the 2nd location (3:05) we were 5 DJI FPV pilots and ultimatly flew quite far out to meet at the summit's cross of one of my fav spots. First I was sceptic and only used my goggles for audience mode, but then we flew off into the distance, 5 copters at the same time (all DJI digital, 25mbit mode) and had 0 problems with video! Of course there were some mishaps with tree branches ;) and some close calls...
Last week I already posted the short from the insane recovery of Chris' scraggle incident ;) And even when the sun was down, we didn't wanna stop - a tiny wing had to be chased ;)

There are a few ways, how we can achieve nice and smooth FPV footage. 4k60fps + stabilization is already butter-smooth out of the box. Problem tho: 60fps footage needs more bitrate than we get from youtube (at least in 1080p) so if you have a lot of moving objects it all degrades into a pixelated mess... (whilst looking nice and crisp before uploading it).
If the fast moving stuff is blurred - it "costs" less bitrate - so we have more bandwidth for the important objects that we want to see crisp! That's why we dial down to 30fps and make each frame a little unsharp. Now we get a smooth look still with good details - aka cinematic look. (and don't get me started on 24fps mistakenly used as cinematic look by many - it just looks jerky if you don't use big camera cranes, dollies or tripods)
In my review of the Freewellgear ND Filters for the DJI Action 2 I also show you a bit about how to use them correctly and what to consider.
Basically:
set ISO to fixed 100-200 and exposure to auto!
BUT: choose the right ND filter (lower number = brigther)
Most flights I can use ND 8 or ND 16 and will be fine. Rarely needed ND32 or even 64 - gotta be very bright and sunny conditions to need those!

It's now WAYYYY easier to create OSD video that you can overlay over your main flight video!
With some inspiration from RCRDPS
I could fully AUTOMATE the process of creating the Video overlay!
- My script converts the SRT files to a nicer layout first (as shown in my last vid) and then it creates a black video with OSD text as MP4!
- Add this black video with the OSD telemetry as an additional layer and apply a "color key" effect (to substract the black and make it transparent).
This way you don't encode the DJI Video twice (which reduces quality).
only 2 requirements:
- download my script
- download "FFMPEG.zip" and extract it in the same DIR as my script and the source videos!
Quick howto:
Run my script - it will run thru ALL *.SRT files in the folder, search the according DJI...MP4 video (has to have same name) and create the new formatted SRT as well as the DJI....OSD.mp4 files for you.
In Premiere:
insert main video
insert DJI...OSD.mp4 (OSD video) above main video (new track)
apply "color key" on that OSD video (choose black, color tolerance 200, edge thin -3)
(optional) apply the superview effect from my last video on MAIN video.
It's not yet a full "Dashware" replacement (check FAB FPVs tutorials on that matter) but it's very convenient and fast enough so we can easily use OSD overlay each time we want (even the very lazy ones amongst us :)
11/2021: Update - I've played around with the DJI FPV drone (which supports SRT files as well since a certain FW). SRT files of the DJI FPV Racer have a few more values (Alt, Distance, Speed...) which is nice of course! Check my link below to find the "SRT_Reformat(DJI FPV Goggles)+ffmpegOSD" Script!
