Found myself testing a new, promising Lipo pack on my Chimera7 in one of the most iconic DIVE locations that I ever visited. Check to see how I liked the pack, how stunning the scenery looks there and even see a sneak peak ;)

After fog creeped in for the better part of december I really started to crave for some sunlight. Last friday afternoon I took my DJI Air3 out for the first time after ages, drove up into the mountains - and was so amazed by both: tech tools and mother natures spectacular sense for dramatic scenery painting ;)
Not been flying a lot in summer. Either TOO hot or rainy - no inbetween. Also many windy days. And even this one here was forecasted as low winds - but up there on the ridgeline - Gyroflow really had to work hard to stabilize footage :)
Super happy with my setup now - INAV 8, 2x 6S 1300mah packs. Not ultra long flighttimes - but good punch and sporty flying.
And if I want more time in the air, I use 6S 5000mah LiIon.
Here we travelled to the most epic italian Mountain peaks - and as soon as the clouds moved aside just a little bit, my drone was up there. Actually the clouds made these flights so much more interesting!
...this was last year, on our way home from the epic Italy vacation where I filmed a lot of stunning mountains - my own country gave me this better looking side of it and we were just there at the right time! Enjoy! Greets, Mario

Had the moste epic conditions on this spectacular longrange spot. Calm, good light and a lot of batteries, drones and planes. See how this ended up (and how many drones we took back home :)

This was the HIGHLIGHT of the whole Italy-Trip, trying to "summit" the highest peak of this region - the Ortler (3902 m) - once it was Austrians highest peak (prior to 1919 where the Hungarian-Austrian monarchy fell apart).
Weather is always a factor of uncertainity - here we had quite good weather, sunny, no wind, but some clouds. With some luck I found a good spot to start from but look up the Ortler in 3D in google maps - it's a bit hard to fly up there... And it was also really INTIMIDATING to even stand there ;)
So glad how those 2 flights turned out, first one with a LiIon and scouting the area, 2nd flight with more powerful Lipo and taking the risk to got up to the highest peaks.
I still have some more flights from this trip - so stay tuned (or even subscribe if you aren't!).

(¯`·.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.-RCSchim-.¸¸.·´¯`·.¸¸.·´¯)
I fly FPV since 2008 and it started with a plane back then (MPX Twinstar).
Soon I moved to flying quads - because they are easier to fly, less effected by wind, smaller...
But each year I have my "phase" of wanting to fly with PLANEs. Usually this phase don't last long, since I fall back to the convenience of copters :)
Now with really good options (DJI video transmission, Crossfire controll link and INAV flight controller) this was my longest phase of mostly flying planes!
I've learned a lot with the planes, feel really confident with INAV now. Autolaunch installed on all of the planes - super helpfull! Stability (control surface action against gusts?) could be better - I guess I need to tune the PIDs there better.
But ACRO mode is so nice! The plane automatically flies straight, without the need for trimming the servos ;)
Stats
this video contains 81GB of footage from July 12 till Oct 28
ARWing pro: 13 flights, 4h 18mins
FPV900: 23 flights, 4h 15mins
Mars 1200: 10 flights, 3h 28mins
Each of these planes has some advantages.

+ efficient (kind of), can carry a gopro (needs lot of nose weight, so without a gopro you need DEADWEIGHT)
- it's a bit unstable and wobbly still.
- Launches are not always easy (but with INAV and autolaunch it's easy!)
Had this spot on my list for long now and this day (late July) was perfect for a session with my chimera 7. Since my Gopro10 was quite new I needed some confidence by scouting with 2 smaller packs there.
From my current perspective (fixedwing mania) I'd love to go there again with 2 or 3 FPV plane wingmen and do epic FPV chase session there!

Met with TJ-FPV again (like in my last video Winghunters). This was when TJ-FPV decided he needs a proper wing - Rene helped him setup the iNav build and now they maidened these planes. Since the weather was great a few other pilots met us there as well - also trying to test their wings ;)
When they saw the tempting mountains on the horizon we also had to drive there as well - so this was basically 2 FPV meetings on one day.
On the 2nd location (3:05) we were 5 DJI FPV pilots and ultimatly flew quite far out to meet at the summit's cross of one of my fav spots. First I was sceptic and only used my goggles for audience mode, but then we flew off into the distance, 5 copters at the same time (all DJI digital, 25mbit mode) and had 0 problems with video! Of course there were some mishaps with tree branches ;) and some close calls...
Last week I already posted the short from the insane recovery of Chris' scraggle incident ;) And even when the sun was down, we didn't wanna stop - a tiny wing had to be chased ;)

After a little hike (on purpose ;) I flew one pack there. Was quite exciting even if I know now that my gear is pretty trusty. Been there in the past, but never had a proper copter to go up all the way.
Spent quite some time searching for a nice way to use both: DJI Srt (bitrate) and Tango2 Telemetry Logs for the overlay. If you guys are curious about this workflow - I could do a tutorial...
Wonderful location (Scheeberg, Scheebergdörfl)
Thanks to the cam-lady for capturing the ext. scenes!
